MLS GIANTS SOUNDERS RE-SIGN GOALKEEPER

Major League Soccer (MLS) giants Seattle Sounders have re-signed goalkeeper Stefan Cleveland. The 27-year-old shot stopper has penned a two-year deal through to the end of the 2023 MLS season with the option of the 2024 MLS season. His signing was announced by Seattle Sounders earlier this week.

Cleveland was temporarily a free agent before his return to Seattle Sounders was confirmed on Wednesday. On his return to Sounders, Lagerwey said that they are delighted to bring the shot stopper back to the club  after his good form last season. Lagerwey is the Seattle Sounders general manager.

SOUNDERS EYEING MOVE FOR VETERAN RUSNAK

Seattle Sounders are reportedly keen on signing veteran midfielder Albert Rusnak from fellow Major League Soccer (MLS) side Real Salt Lake (RSL). This is according to journalist Niko Moreno who said that at least one source has confirmed that Seattle Sounders are structuring a deal to sign Real Salt Lake midfielder and MLS veteran Albert Rusnak.

Moreno talked about Seattle Sounders and Rusnak via his official Twitter handle as he said that the quest to sign the veteran midfielder makes a lot of sense as he can function well in either the three-man centre back system or the 4-2-3-1 formation. The journalist said that the versatility of MLS veteran Rusnak could make him a key component for Sounders in their variations of their 3 CBs formations or under their 4-2-3-1 system.

ADENIRAN SIGNS FOR SEATTLE SOUNDS

Sam Adeniran has signed for MLS (Major League Soccer) giants Seattle Sounders after the news was revealed at the end-of-the-season press conference last week Friday.

Craig Waibelconfirmed the signing of Adeniran while talking about the success of youth throughout the organisation. Waibeldoubles as the sporting director and vice-president of soccer at Seattle Sounders. According to him, Sam Adeniran has already signed for Seattle Sounders and that he scored 13 times for Defiance this year. The new Seattle Sounders first team player has been exempted from the Major League Soccer (MLS) Expansion Draft since his Seattle Sounders contract don’t start until next year.

CREPEAU, GAULD MAKE BEST PLAYER LIST

The Vancouver Whitecaps duo of Ryan Gauld and MaximeCrepeau have been rewarded with a place in the MLS Team of the Week for Week 35 after their impressive outings against Seattle Sounders. The two players were outstanding as Vancouver Whitecaps sealed a place in the playoffs via a 1-1 draw with Seattle Sounders at home.

MORRIS TO RETURN TO SOUNDERS SQUAD

Seattle Sounders manager Brian Schmetzer has confirmed that the return of Jordan Morris to his squad is imminent as he continues his recovery from a serious knee injury.

Schmetzer gave an update on Morris in his latest press conference earlier this week. According to him, Morris is set to return to full training in the coming days and that he expects him to be a part of his squad before the end of the regular season.
