Borussia Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke has indicated that the club have no plans of parting ways with Jadon Sancho during the summer transfer window. The German side are set to lose the services of Christian Pulisic when the season concludes, and this has encouraged the need to keep hold of Sancho, who has been one of their standout performers this season.

In an interview with Bild, Watzke revealed that Sancho won’t follow Pulisic through the exit door during the summer with the club determined to keep him for at least one more season, he said:  “I’m far from putting a price tag on Jadon. His transfer would be difficult even for the biggest clubs in the world at the moment. Jadon will play for Borussia Dortmund next season.”

United States international Pulisic has been the best young performing player at Dortmund over the past few seasons but he has dropped down the pecking order this term with Sancho taking up his position on the right side of the attack. In the Bundesliga alone, he has contributed eight goals and 13 assists, and it remains to be seen whether his efforts are sufficient to guide Dortmund to the league title.

Elsewhere, Pulisic is set to join Chelsea when the season comes to a close, and it will be interesting to see whether he can become an instant hit with the Blues. The USA footballer has been struggling with regular muscular problems during the current campaign itself, but the Blues will be hoping that he has no recurrence of the same when he takes the field for them next term. Meanwhile, Pulisic’s arrival at the Bridge could coincide with the departure of Eden Hazard, who has been heavily linked with Real Madrid. The Belgian has just 15 months left on his Blues contract.
