So far during the 2016 season of the MLS, the Seattle Sounders have played 9 league matches and sustained 4 defeats while also managing to clinch 4 victories.

It clearly has not been the best start of a season that the American club has experienced but SigiSchmid and his squad is slowly getting back on track as they won their 2nd successive league game after defeating San Jose on May 8.

During the 5 opening matches of the season of Seattle Sounders, they lost 3 of those games but the head coach of the team identified a more recent defeat as the most important one of this season so far as the 63 year old coach stated that the defeat against Colorado Rapids was a game that his team should learn from and use it as a stepping stone instead of a morale booster.

Seattle Sounders locked horns with Colorado Rapids on April 24 and even though the team of SigiSchmid had the upper hand in possession with 57%, they couldn’t capitalize on it and according to Schmid, he stated that his own team lost against themselves instead of their actual opponents.

“I thought the first three games of the year, even though we lost, we were unfortunate and I thought we played better and created more chances than the opponent. We were a little bit unlucky. Today, I thought we as a unit, coaching staff, players, we beat ourselves today. We had enough balls that we ended up playing in behind, we had enough chances. We had crosses that were going across the six that we just didn’t get on to. Our possession didn’t amount to anything at the end of the day because we didn’t do a good enough job defensively.”SigiSchmid of Seattle Sounders said after his team lost against Colorado Rapids.

SigiSchmid and his team are slowly getting back in shape as they claimed successive victories over Columbus and San Jose and it seemed like the words of Schmid have helped his team in recovering their form and return to winning ways.
